Fantastic Feet Review

Fantastic Feet

I was excited to find this book because I've been having a lot of problems with my feet. I'm a ballroom dancer, and my arches and my ankles have been very sore lately. Although the price of the book was quite high for the number of pages, I figured if it helped me, it would be worth it. Well, there isn't a lot of variety in the exercises - they all seem to be variations of each other. The print quality and grammar
aren't good either - the book might well have been printed in someone's garage. A few of the exercises seem like they're helping a bit - but I've seen these exercises elsewhere - so I wouldn't have had to buy this
book.

This is a terrific book--it's changing my life so that I'm becoming less critical of myself.I think I'm becoming a happier person because of it.
I also found some of the reasons why I feel rushed, overworked, and tend to run late. Very eye-opening!!!
This is a very compassionate book of loving and accepting oneself. I plan to read this book over and over!
The authors write in a loving and caring manner. I am undergoing a lot of self-growth by reading books by these authors. I have read another book which they helped write, and I have just purchased my third book by them.
I highly recommend this book, and other books which they have written.

Ballet: From the First Plie to Mastery, An Eight-Year Course Review

Ballet: From the First Plie to Mastery, An Eight-Year Course

this is a perfect guide for a syallabus for a dance school.
That is what I'm doing with it. I am a professional ballet dancer that has danced with major dance companies in the USA. I needed a good guide to teach young beginners I am teaching. This book is a perfect guide in teaching young beginners through to advance students. The stretches taught are real perks for the students to gain the flexibility they need for the years new steps. Also the strenghtening back exercises are exactly what children need in order to do arabesques and other steps. I am also a pilates instructor and these stretches and strengthening floor exercises are perfect. I wouldn't reccommend this book to a child since it is very detailed in words but to a 12-13year old that likes to read and dance it might be just what she likes! and it will give her some good pointers.
Best of luck
T.T.

This text is designed as a complement to a beginning student's ballet training. The book opens with a brief description of the benefits of ballet training to young dancers, and then introduces fundamentals and precepts of the technique. Clear photographs show exactly how to execute each movement. Then an eight-year course is presented, taking the student from the age of five or six through the teen years, outlining exactly what is to be taught and how it is to be performed. For ballet students, their parents and their teachers, this work gives a basic overview of ballet technique that should be a useful reference as well as a guide to training.

8 Steps to a Pain-Free Back: Natural Posture Solutions for Pain in the Back, Neck, Shoulder, Hip, Knee, and Foot (Remember When It Didn't Hurt) Review

8 Steps to a Pain-Free Back: Natural Posture Solutions for Pain in the Back, Neck, Shoulder, Hip, Knee, and Foot (Remember When It Didn't Hurt)

This is by far the single best source for healing back pain that I have seen. I hurt my lower back pretty badly doing heavy deadlifts after too long of a layoff (entirely my fault, I know), and pursued a wide variety of different treatment methods. I had previously been exposed to other postural/ alignment methodologies in an attempt to get rid of chronic injuries, which had been helpful, but nothing was as poignant, simple, or direct as Gokhale's work.
There are three outstanding aspects of this book:
1. Gokhale clearly identifies what ideal posture and alignment looks like, and backs this up with numerous photos.
2. Gokhale's method is very, very simple, and once learned, becomes integrated into your everyday life. I know of other methods where you have to spend 30-45 minutes per day doing exercises - this method requires very little extra bandwidth once you have learned it.
3. The book itself is beautifully laid out, with a balance between illustrative photos and explanations.
Considering the amount of time and money I've spent pursuing other treatment methods, this is a ridiculously good value. Don't discount it just because it is so inexpensive! I bought a copy for my parents, and two extra books as I constantly have them loaned out. If you are seeking to get rid of chronic pain, this is my #1 go-to recommendation.
