Japanische Automobile Review

With all of the interest in vintage American, British, and European cars of the 1950s and 1960s, it is easy to over look that Japan also produced cars in those decades. They are largely forgotten because the term, MADE IN JAPAN in those days was synonymous with the term, MADE IN CHINA at the present time, that is to say, JUNK.
Most of these vehicles no longer exist, having succumbed to the "tin worm" ie rust.
That said, this book is an excellent resource if one wants to determine just what model that was one remembers seeing years ago. Case in point: I remember a HINO Contessa in my childhood neighborhood in Winnipeg, in the late 1960s. Until I bought this book, I had no idea what marque this was.
Also of interest to me are the late 60's, early 70s larger Toyota Crown and Corona models; early Japanese attempts to mimic larger full sized American cars such as the AMC Ambassador and Ford LTD.
Excellent book.
